Elkwater is a full service townsite on the Elkwater Lake shore. There are two restaurants , a service station, and a small grocery store to serve your needs. The Elkwater Lake Lodge and Resort is located at the northeast end of the townsite, while the new Visitor Centre sits near the lake at the opposite end of town. A variety of interpretive programs and activities are held in the park year round and operate out of the Visitor Centre. As well, there are 5 campgrounds located within the Elkwater town site. On the Alberta side, you’ll find 15 campgrounds, with camping services that include full-services sites with showers to basic or walk-in tenting sites. Some campgrounds have day use areas, beaches, playgrounds, nature trails, interpretive viewpoints, and more.

Reservations are available for campgrounds within the Elkwater townsite area. Reservations for individual campsites begin on May 1 at 9:00am by calling (403) 893-3782 or online at www.reserve.albertaparks.ca. Any sites not reserved will become available on a first come, first served basis. Campgrounds outside of the Elkwater townsite are available on a first come, first served basis.
