Kananaskis Country borders the Town of Canmore and Banff National Park and covers 4000 square kilometres of the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies. It encompasses the Canmore Nordic Centre - the site of the 1988 Olympic Nordic Events and is 2 minutes drive from Canmore. Nakiska Ski Resort is nestled in the heart of the park and is a 40 minute drive from Canmore . This site was also originally designed for the 1988 Olympics for alpine events. Today it is part of the resort Village of Kananaskis that encompasses 3 hotels, 2 golf courses ( a 5 minute drive from the village) and numerous adventure activities.
